An end to a career that gave us goosebumps – and we were able to make it happen. From the initial idea to the grand finale at the XL public event: our team turned Diego’s farewell match into a uniquely emotional experience. Creative concept, technical planning and implementation – all from a single source, made by JOKE. On top of that, we were able to make 40 Werder members happy ahead of the main event at an unforgettable fan evening with Werder legends Diego and Thomas Schaaf in the „Grünen Bude“.
The big, emotional farewell ceremony took place in the stadium, perfectly staged from the players’ entrance to the lap of honor. The highlight was the artistic staging of Diego’s legendary 62-metre goal, with which he scored the “Goal of the Year” for Werder in 2007, as well as the impressive pyro show. The goal scene was brilliantly reenacted with the giant light figure “Dundu” as Diego’s double. This was followed by a light show with over 30 mega-lights and fireworks from the stadium roof and the stadium pool. This created highly emotional moments that will remain etched in the fans’ memories forever.
An evening full of emotion, highlights and a show that literally made the stadium shake!
